Técnica de Hall para el tratamiento de segundos molares primarios hipomineralizados: reporte de caso

Resumen

Introducción: El segundo molar primario hipomineralizado (SMPH) es un defecto del esmalte que afecta de 1 a 4 segundos molares primarios. Objetivo: Describir el uso de la Técnica Hall (HT) en la rehabilitación de un segundo molar primario gravemente afectado en un paciente con SMPH y enfatizar la importancia del seguimiento clínico en el manejo de fracturas y lesiones de caries. Reporte de caso: Niño de 9 años presentó problemas estéticos y dientes dolorosos y sensibles. Se diagnosticó hipomineralización de molares incisores (HMI) y SMPH. Se realizó tratamiento preventivo, seguido de restauración dental mediante HT. Las visitas de control se programaron cada 3 meses. Una cita de revisión después de 12 meses reveló un tratamiento estable. Sus dientes estaban libres de caries y no se observó ninguna fractura. Discusión: HT es una opción restauradora favorable para SMPH que involucra dos o más superficies. Conclusión: La TH puede considerarse una alternativa viable para restaurar dientes SMPH.
